During the trilateral summit held yesterday in Cairo, which brought together the President of Egypt, the Prime Minister of Greece, and the President of the Republic of Cyprus, a parallel B2B event concluded with resounding success.
Amid this prestigious gathering, Antipollution Egypt was officially unveiled, garnering attention from seven Ministers representing the three nations, the Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and the heads of each country’s Investment Authorities.
Specifically, under the attention of: H.E. Dr. Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation; H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; H.E. Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs; H.E. Eng. Hassan El Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; H.E. Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; H.E. Mr. George Papanastasiou, Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus; H.E. Mr. Kostas Frangogiannis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness of Greece; H.E. As described, Egypt is emerging as a strategic hub for investments, with a leading role held by the V Group’s investment and the establishment of Antipollution Egypt. This new company was founded with the aim of bolstering national and international efforts to transform the Suez Canal into the first green canal by 2030. With sustainability as its cornerstone, the company has operated with a zero-carbon footprint from day one, integrating the most advanced technologies and environmental protection practices.
The investment, with a total budget of $150 million, has already taken shape with an initial allocation of $11 million. As part of its implementation, offices have been established in Cairo, specialized equipment has been transferred from Greece, along with vessels essential for the company’s operations. Additionally, the first eco-friendly waste collection vessel was constructed and inaugurated two weeks ago in a special ceremony by the chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Admiral Osama Rabie.
The official launch of Antipollution Egypt’s operational activities has already been announced and is expected in the coming weeks, reaffirming the V Group’s commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection, and the creation of a greener future for the Suez Canal.
