Execution of theoretical and practical training emergency team of Igoumenitsa Port

As part of our contractual obligations, on 07/07/16 and 07/08/2016 a theoretical and practical training in marine pollution readiness was held by the ANTIPOLLUTION S.A. emergency team in the Port Authority of Igoumenitsa.
The training was attended by partners and organizations such as the Fire Services, Port Authorities and Diving Services. During the theoretical training, five sections were developed regarding:

1. The Oil properties

2. The Personal protective equipment

3. The Marine Pollution Response Equipment

4. The Waste Management

5. The Equipment Maintenance

The purpose of the presentation was to provide a full updating to the employees for the oil and pollution that occurs during potential leakage at the marines, the methods and the equipment to deal with pollution as well as the personal protection during these specific tasks. After the presentation end there were questions by the attendees and there was a well informative conversation.
The practical training took place from the Emergency Team of the organization, in presence of the Organization Members. For the purpose of the exercise, a scenario of leakage and pollution at the marine due to oil spill from a fire ship of the Fire Authority was created. The employees of the Organization used the antipollution equipment inside the Container space at the new port of Igoumenitsa. The operation was completed in assistance of the diving service and the development of a dam around the fire ship.
