Axion Hellas, a non-profit organization with a strong presence in the field of volunteering, has accomplished its 5th crossing to Schinoussa, Anafi, Kasos and Karpathos, which lasted from 28 April to 6 May 2018. During that time, medical examinations were carried out at local clinics, home visits, educational and cultural events for the residents of the islands as well as beach cleanings in Schinoussa and Karpathos.
More than 100 volunteers participated in this significant action, giving to the residents of these islands the opportunity to have, even for a few days, benefits that are considered as facts to residents of bigger islands and cities.
Antipollution actively participated in this action, particularly in the field of beach cleaning where, with the support of the Axion Hellas’s volunteers and of many residents adults and little children too, helped to the cleaning of 11 beaches in Schinoussa (Gerolimnionas, Foikio, Psili Ammos, Almyros, Fountana, Pori, Livadi, Piso Ammos, Liolou, Tsigouri, Aligaria) as well as the beach Afoti in Karpathos.
It is of great importance such voluntary actions to be carried out in order to promote the protection of people…of the society…of the environment… of the planet.
