Antipollution constantly supports training and education of the maritime community with skills for the green and digital transition.
Antipollution is a member, partner and supporter of HELMEPA’s action for almost 20 years and recently Antipollution General Manager Andreas Giakoumelos has been elected as a member of the BoD. Moreover, driven by the need for zero tolerance for accidents on board, the use of new virtual reality technologies in training and the strengthening of cooperation with shipping agencies, Antipollution is actively contributing to the committee’s efforts with the participation of its executives in the training committee aiming to communicate all messages in all directions.
The program is offered to seafarers of all nationalities and office executives, offering a holistic educational proposal of 38 seminars, totaling 275 hours and structured in 28 thematic axes. The program is implemented with the participation of more than 50 lecturers and is co-assisted by the HELMEPA Training Committee. Basic focus is to promote the voluntary sharing of knowledge, good practices and lessons learned. HELMEPA’s multi-stakeholder platform, which is a unique example worldwide, is represented by 316 companies and organizations from the wider shipping sector, 2,270 ships and 14,000 seafarers.
