Antipollution Moves to Piraeus Tower: Strengthening Its Environmental Mission in Greece’s Leading Green Building

September 25, 2024

Piraeus, Greece – Antipollution, a key player in marine environmental protection, has officially relocated its headquarters to the 22nd floor of Piraeus Tower, marking a significant step in the organization’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. The move places Antipollution in the only LEED-certified building in Piraeus, a milestone that highlights the organization’s dedication to environmental leadership and eco-friendly operations.

The newly refurbished Piraeus Tower, a landmark in Greece’s busiest port city, stands as a symbol of sustainable innovation, having undergone extensive renovations to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. LEED certification is a globally recognized standard that ensures buildings meet stringent criteria for energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and sustainable design. By relocating to this eco-friendly hub, Antipollution aligns its operational footprint with the very principles it promotes: sustainability, conservation, and environmental responsibility.

“We’re excited to call Piraeus Tower our new home,” said a representative of Antipollution. “This building, with its LEED certification and modern, green infrastructure, perfectly matches our mission to reduce marine pollution and protect our coastal ecosystems. It’s not just about where we work, but how we work—this move is a reflection of our commitment to operating sustainably at every level.”

Antipollution’s new offices offer state-of-the-art facilities that encourage collaboration and innovation, with panoramic views of the port and cutting-edge technology to support the organization’s expanding operations. More importantly, the LEED-certified environment reduces the company’s environmental impact, reinforcing its role as a leader in marine conservation.

The move to Piraeus Tower is expected to strengthen Antipollution’s presence in the heart of Greece’s maritime sector, providing closer access to key partners and stakeholders in the shipping and environmental industries. Situated in this prime location, the organization is well-positioned to further its efforts in tackling marine pollution, conducting coastal cleanups, and spearheading environmental education programs.

As part of its strategic initiatives, Antipollution continues to engage in more than 10 beach and underwater cleanups annually, work with partners such as Enaleia and HELMEPA, and invest in educational programs aimed at younger generations. The new headquarters in Piraeus Tower will serve as a foundation for these efforts, providing the organization with a sustainable base of operations as it continues to advocate for a cleaner, healthier marine environment.
